The creation of Oryzae was the lovechild of the husband and wife team behind the enormously popular Kozo Cafe. Evolving and expanding, the new Japanese restaurant takes its name after Koji, or Aspergillus Oryzae, a key culinary fungus in traditional cuisine. Joining forces with the highly skilled Chef Koichi Fujioka from Hapa Izakaya at the Ritz-Carlton in Toronto, the menu blends beautifully presented pressed sushi and Japanese kitchen food with much-loved diners’ favourites, like the Super Hero Roll (chili oil, crunchy bits and mayonnaise topped with avocado and eel sauce). Along with creative rolls, the menu also features incredibly tender sous-vide chicken, lamb and octopus. It is family-friendly and takeout is available. Selected beer, wine and menu items are discounted at happy hour.
